It Should be understood that the Krewe of Hillsborough is always in the public eye and as such we shall conduct ourselves in a manner such as not to bring discredit to the organization.

If any member becomes intoxicated and beyond control of a marshal or a member of the executive board, he or she shall be requested to ride the float. This way there is no danger to themselves or others. When drinking, handle yourself properly and all of us will have a good time.

Hats and vests must be worn during the parade at all times.

Bead Storage - Because of the growth of the Krewe and the need of some of our members to ride the float during parades, there will be NO BEAD STORAGE ON THE FLOAT. Plan to carry all the beads you are going to throw on your person.

Old Float Conduct

The float is the most expensive item we own. With the cost of maintenance, insurance and it's problems. Only Pre Approved Members can ride the Float during the parades. Board members have to approve non-members.

Remember:

  1. Use the stairs.
  2. Hold on to the railing while ascending or descending from the float.
  3. Watch out for the safety of others.
  4. Assist the marshals if needed.
  5. Stay with the Float.
  6. Remember that other bands and floats are in competition for the best unit.
  7. Walk at least 10 feet in front of the float, so that the driver can see you.
  8. If a marshal tells you to move, MOVE.
