Knowing the many lives that Myron Dodd had touched as a loving father, friend, Charter Member of the Krewe of Hillsborough, and a Best Friend I look out into the world today and am almost at a loss for words, yes me. Myron had a unique presence about him. He would be able to charm the socks off anyone-or some other form of clothing, if optional. He had his life’s troubles but never let the world know. He was an extreme businessman with a strong business ethic. He enjoyed his life to it’s fullest. I applaud Myron for his ability to demonstrate excellent parental skills, fun loving friendships, dedication to the Krewe, and a bond of everlasting love to all he met. He could walk into any room and the party would get started. Funny, even if he was unable to attend an event, somehow the event would go on and his name would be mentioned at a minimal 15 times per hour. He brought so many memories into our lives that he made it impossible for any of us to ever forget him.
Having shared Fantasy Fest 2005 with him at the end of October and seeing the love in his eyes for the fun times in life… I will never forget. He partied like there was no tomorrow. Please move forward in life today in living with the idea that every day is special and that we must cherish our family, friends, and loved ones as if it were our last day on earth. I feel Myron’s purpose on this planet in sharing our lives was to teach everyone that no matter what life deals you…it’s a purpose and you simply deal with it and make yourself and others appreciate life!
In Myron’s honor I ask that each of you look towards your family, friends, and the Krewe and ask yourself… what would Myron do? Each of your decisions will somehow revolve around caring, giving, partying, loving, asking, smiling, advising, consoling, and most of all sharing yourself, as he would have done. The world may be a much sadder world with the loss of the physical presence of Myron Dodd today, however each of our lives in the world as we live on has been blessed with Myron and his purpose in our lives. Myron will never leave our lives for his personality, spiritual presence, and love will live on forever in each of us!
Myron…we miss you…
